We did this event back in '08 and had a GREAT time!! But this year I was booked to go to SMSU for and Interactive Cooking Class!! Ann, came to my rescue, she roasted the Cochon de Lait, Pork Loins and cooked the Jambalaya!! HEY, I might have competition!

Everyone was dressed up for a GREAT party!! Check out the festive colors and Hawaiian dresses!

Mercy Endeavors Senior Center is a faith-based, non-denominational program. As a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Endeavors provides opportunities for active adults 55+ years of age. The members play an active role in shaping the Program. They each identify their personal plan for participation based on their needs, creativity, interest and skills from a wide variety of opportunities.

Mercy Endeavors provide snacks and a hot meals daily for it's members. Mercy Endeavors along with the Total Community Action (TCA) and Second Harvesters Food Bank provide a food pantry for the community.

From their September Newsletter:

"Dear Seniors,

I want to take this opportunity to thank our staff at Mercy endeavors for a job will done during the Hawaiian Luau. We really enjoyed ourselves and the entertainment of the evening was fabulous. Vicky Brister and her dancers did a great job as did Dorothy Beal on the Hula Hoop! The food and drink was out of this world!! Our gratitude goes out to our benefactors: Judge Chris Bruno, Captain Charles, the Philadelphia Gang with Ms Nadine, Sister Emerita, Sister Majella, and many more. The Staff at Mercy endeavors is very resourceful and works well as a Team to make things happen. Vicky Brister and Sylvia Barial worked well as coordinators. We are blessed indeed!! Thank YOU!"

Many of the activities of the Mercy Activity Senior Center include:

Field Trips, Bingo, Crafts, Dancing, Literacy, Shopping, Computer Classes, Exercise Tai Chi, Bible Study, Picnics, Card Games, Special Events and Guest Speakers. WOW, they cover the gambit of planning and events!!
